You see, dieting tarnishes the way a person views food. Instead of selecting foods that are enjoyable and nourishing in the appropriate portion to satisfy one’s appetite, it is very easy to start viewing food through the lens of numbers – calories, carbohydrates, fat grams, etc. – and making food decisions based upon what a person subjectively feels she/he “should” eat.
